IV Short answers (20 points)
Lucy wants to bulk up. She’s lifting heavy weights fast, three times a week. Unfortunately, Lucy has very few fast glycolytic muscle fibers in her biceps and she isn’t getting very buff. Explain to Lucy why her workout regime is not working.
She needs to work out with light weights many times to build the type of muscle she does have. You are born with a ratio and cannot change that ratio, and to work on the type that she does have. You must do a lot of slow reaps and put stress on the muscles so that they shorten and bulk up.
2. Explain, on a cellular level, why ladies in the 50’s wore high-heeled bedroom slippers with little pom-poms on top.
The Sacromeres in the calf muscles have shorted and there are fewer sacromeres in the cell so walking around flat footed would have been painful b/c the cross bridges would be broken and stretled further than they are usual to.
