Neuron = cell
Nerve fibers – long skinny extensions of a cell either an axon or dendrite
Tract – bundle of fibers in the CNS may or may not be covered in oligoded rocytes grayish without oligos whitish with oligos.
Nerve – Bundle of fibers in P:NS may or may not be myelinated
{ you can pick up a nerve – ie. Siate nerve}
Nucleus – Bunch of cell bodies in CNS
Ganglien = Bunch of cell bodies, clustered together in PNS
{ looks like a lump in nerve}

Receptor organs – receiving
Effectors – make things happen
Spinal nerves – come out from spinal cord
Cranial nerves – come out from brain
Ganglia - associated with axons
Satellite cells – associated with cell bodies

Type of information in PNS:
Sensory information – comes from outside world to CNS, referred to as afferent – brings information to receptor organs – CNS
Travels up PNS nerve to CNS
Motor information – goes from CNS to outside world = errerent
CNS to effectors organs
Ie. Muscles – make contract where travels.

Outer tube – skin, skeletal muscle
Visceral
Inner tube – kidneys, spleen, G.I. tract, glands, inner stuff smooth and cardic, gut
Somatic sensory eyes, ears, fingers – cold, bright light, hip is hurting, Trapezius hurts.
Visceral sensory hunger, nauseous, smooth muscles in visceral
Visceral motor cardiac muscle, glands, smooth muscle keeps going with out thinki8ng autonomic nervous system.

CNS Brain and spinal cord tissue nuclei (cell bodies) tracts *fibers) in CN S
Internevrons – relays information with in CNS
Support cells:P astrocytes, ependymal oligodendrocytes, microglia
Spinal cord intregrating spinal nerve information everything coming from PNS and going to CNS brain signals relays information up and down.
Brain – integrates information from cranial nerves and spinal cord
